I was astounded a few days ago upon looking up at the Kadota fig trees behind our beehives to see a number of figs of a very good size already on their branches. Although I remember these particular figs as being the first to begin bearing and ripening last year, I am just sure it was not this early in the season.
And the strawberries began to bloom before we had gotten around to dividing them for this season. So we decided to just leave them alone and not disrupt their fruiting process. Now we have little green strawberries beginning to form in our thick dense rows of strawberry plants.
Of course the azaleas and spirea are blooming, the daffodils are quite finished and the iris are blooming too. Not to mention the roses beginning to show their colors.
But don’t get me wrong, I am really not complaining. It's official now. It really is spring and I surely am glad it is!
